Xenopus gene names were update from LOC100495217, uncharacterized and LOC121396554, dickkopf-related protein 3-like to dkkl1, dickkopf like acrosomal protein 1 based on synteny with human and mouse.

nb: BLAST identifies the X.laevis dkkl1.S gene as having low identity cf human (~35%), but this is likely due to a architecture/structural domain differences between reptiles/amphibians ( >400 AA, 2 domains [Dkk_Cys1 & CLPS_Dkk_Cys2 domains], and mammals (~250 AA, which only have the DKKL1 domain) .
