nomenclature history

22January2026

The Xenopus genes on this page [XB-GENEPAGE-6455903] were renamed, changing from irs2 to irs2l, following synteny evidence. The true irs2 orthologs are on Chr2. These 'like' genes are on Chr2/2L/2S.

We have moved the images associated with this gene from the retina gene expression screen done by the Perron Lab, and removed the orthologs.
